Customers will find an atmosphere of intimate seating areas, comfortable chairs, a community table and will enjoy free WiFi Internet access.
Located in the the Plaza Professional Building next to Webster Bank and nearby to The Southbury Music Studio, the cafe will be open every day. The hours are Monday to Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Panera is known for its hand-crafted, freshly baked artisan breads, but also for the quality of its all-round menu featuring antibiotic-free chicken, select organic and all-natural ingredients, and a menu with zero grams added Trans fats.The menu includes a variety of year-round favorites complementing seasonal items and breads baked fresh daily on the premises. Panera also offers catering services available for breakfast, lunch and snacks. “We are thrilled to open our newest bakery-cafe in such a great community,” said Tom Kelleher, Joint Venture Area Director, Panera Bread.
At the end of each day, Panera Bread donates all unsold bread and baked goods to local area hunger relief agencies as part of its local Day-End Dough-Nation program.

Soon shoppers will need to go only as far as the Plaza to get "The Maxx For The Minimum”!
The nation’s largest off-price retailer, T.J. Maxx, will be the plaza’s newest anchor tenant! The store will occupy the former Borders Books space. Work on the store will start immediately with a targeted opening of early spring.
T.J. Maxx sells brand name family apparel, women's shoes and home fashions at discounted prices, and it operates approximately 890 stores in 48 states.
T.J. Maxx is the latest of several recent additions to the shopping center. Premier Wine & Spirits opened a new store in October and Panera Bakery and Café opened the doors of their new location next to Southbury Music Studio earlier this month.
The Plaza's newest merchant, Premier Wine and Spirits is now open! You will be greeted by a friendly and welcoming atmosphere as you walk through the doors of their beautiful new store! They are conveniently located in the center just two doors down from the Stop and Shop grocery store between Radio Shack and Opticare.
There you will find an impressive inventory with hundreds of bottles of the standard favorites as well as the hard to find wines, spirits and brews.
Having trouble selecting the right beverage to serve with a special dinner? No problem. Owners Anna Reis and Chris Dortenzio offer the best service and knowledge in the retail industry and will be happy to offer suggestions to both enthusiasts and novice buyers.
Stop by to meet the staff or join them at one of their free tastings. There will be wine tastings held each Saturday from 1 to 4 PM and specialty beer tastings every Friday from 5-7PM.
Their store hours will be 9-9 Monday through Saturday and they will also offer custom gift baskets, gift ideas and gift cards!
The winner of Southbury Plaza’s 2011 Holiday Shopping Spree is Louise Olsen of Oxford!
The lucky winner’s name was drawn at random from thousands of entries collected at plaza stores during the holiday season.
As grand prize winner Louise received $100 gift certificates to the five plaza stores she named as her favorites. Living in the area all her life she is a long time customer of the shopping center and its stores and she commented that “she has a lot of favorites”.
Her first choice of a certificate from Wesley’s Shoes came to her easily because as one of their customers she likes to be able to shop locally and is happy that there is a shoe store with great selection and value in her area to buy footwear from. It was here that her luck started when she filled out an entry blank while doing some shopping during the holidays.
A certificate to Cost Cutters Family Hair Care was her second choice where her favorite stylist, Paula, has been keeping her hair looking great for several years now.
Her third selection was a gift certificate from DressBarn to splurge on some new outfits at their annual winter sale.
Louise also chose a gift certificate from Kmart where she knows that she can find any number of items to spend the money on!
Rounding off her choices was a certificate to Catalyst Health & Fitness where she plans to begin her new year’s resolution of working out with a friend who is already a member there.
This is the eleventh year that the Plaza merchants have sponsored the Holiday Shopping Spree. Past winners include Jane Real of Woodbury, and Mary Staack of Newtown. “The merchants enjoy seeing which stores will be named as favorites and I love the job of calling and telling the person that they have won this shopping spree!” said Nancy Robinson, plaza marketing director. “The response that I got from Louise matches that of past winners that ‘this is such a great way to start off the New Year!’”
